Help
So this is where all the stuff goes that I couldn’t think where else to put it!
Drawings
I generally use three types of paper for my drawing:
- Daler Rowney 96 gsm acid free paper
- Daler Rowney Sussex Cartridge 130 gsm
- Seawhite of Brighton 140 gsm acid free
I draw using fade-proof pigment inks, using from 0.05 up to 0.4 (though rarely use that size) preferring to keep within 0.05 to 0.2 for the intricacy.
Most drawings average between 30 to 40 hours to complete, but more intricate ones can exceed 70 hours (example - The Old Galleon).
How big are paper sizes? See below ..
A4 = 8.3 x 11.7 in, 210 x 297 mm
A3 = 11.7 x 16.5 in, 297 x 420 mm
A2 = 16.5 x 23.4 in, 420 x 594 mm
A1 = 23.4 x 33.1 in, 594 x 841 mm
A0 = 33.1 x 46.8 in, 841 x 1189 mm
Prints
My prints are produced using a high resolution giclée reproduction on fine art portrait smooth white paper.
(The term “giclée” is used to describe a fine art digital printing process combining pigment based inks with high quality archival quality paper to achieve prints of superior archival quality, light fastness and stability.)
